Certificate of Origin

Some foreign countries or importers require a Certificate of Origin for certain commodities. The purpose of the certificate is to authenticate the merchandise's country of origin. Customs offices use this document to determine whether or not a preferential duty rate applies on the products being imported.

The Portland Business Alliance issues certificates of origin for goods manufactured within the United States. Payment is by cash or check. Coupons are also available for purchase. Costs are: $5.00 per set for Alliance members and $10.00 per set for non-members (a set is the original document along with two copies).

If you have any questions regarding the certificate of origin program, please contact Trish Presting, Information Center Coordinator, at 503.552.6764.
