The primary reason we choose to do business in Portland is because we live here and we knew Portland would be the ideal place to introduce an environmentally sound alternative to traditional dry cleaning. We knew the people would be responsive to a sustainable choice in this typically non-sustainable industry.

The most obvious sustainable business practice we employ at our business is our cleaning process itself. The GreenEarth Cleaning Process we use is revolutionary in the industry. While dry cleaning is an industry known for the use of highly toxic chemicals, our system is chemically inert, 100% biodegradable, and safe.

At our Dry Cleaning Station stores, we have implemented intensive recycling of all recyclable materials. We accept recyclable materials such as hangers and dry cleaning bags from all our customers at our locations, even if these materials are from a competitor. We also operate our locations utilizing PGE wind power. Our locations are built with sustainable interior materials and we operate our cleaning systems using a revolutionary method that creates no waste whatsoever and completely recycles the cleaning fluids.

Innovation is what has grown our company from one store in SE Portland in January of 2005 to five stores, four pick up and delivery routes and a plant operating two shifts, six days a week today. Most recently we tested and implemented a new, 100 percent natural system that has reduced our electric and gas usage by 18 percent.

We are fortunate to do business in Portland; the people are very supportive of sustainable businesses, and we try to incorporate sustainability, and how to be more environmentally sound, into all of our business innovations. Being innovative does not mean we are inventing anything at our plant, but we are thinking outside the box and seeking out opportunities to not only grow our business, but also grow our business the right way.
