With an 18,000+ square-foot Data Center in Beaverton, we at EasyStreet Online Services, Inc. provide Internet and Managed IT Services to more than 2,300 Northwest businesses. Our Data Center facilities house numerous computer servers and the infrastructure necessary to support them. Studies abound about Data Centers' ever-increasing appetite for power and have found that the amount of electricity used to power the world's Data Center servers doubled in a five-year span and will increase an additional 40 percent by 2010.

So rather than continuing to gobble power from traditional sources, we recently committed to buy PGE Clean Wind power for roughly half of the company's Data Center energy needs. This commitment makes EasyStreet a Gold-level PGE Clean Wind Partner.

We have built on our decision to go green by offering a Renewable Power Option for our co-location customers who house their servers at our Data Center. Several customers have already requested this option and will pay a monthly premium for renewable power to their servers based on their power configuration.

Our co-founder and vice president of customer service, John Beaston said recently, "EasyStreet is committed to becoming a more sustainable business. We recognize that caring for the environment is crucial to our employees, our customers and Oregon's economy and livability. We are actively working to mitigate the environmental consequences of energy consumption that go hand-in-hand with being a thriving Data Center and Managed Services Provider."

In addition to Clean Wind power in the Data Center, we use 100 percent PGE Renewable Future power in the office section of the building. This power is from the Klondike II Wind Farm in eastern Oregon.

We also created a "Green Team," which meets regularly to work on sustainability issues. The team includes the CEO, several executives, managers and staff members from all departments.
