Downtown Services

Ambassador Bios

Greg
Greg is a senior in Portland State University's Urban Planning program. His customer service experience the past six years will come in handy as he assists visitors and residents in downtown.
Harvest
Harvest brings more than 11 years of customer service to the Ambassador team. As a Portland native, he has watched the city grow and loves to share with locals and tourists alike his knowledge of the town’s evolution and the ever-growing crop of restaurants and attractions. He considers himself both “a seed on becoming … whatever the heart manifests, and… a farmer wanting to grow the best harvest on the planet.” He sends an invitation to the world: “Watch me grow! Peace and love!”
Kean
An Oregon native, Kean considers Portland the friendliest city around. He enjoys nothing more than the simple pleasantries of life. When not walking around downtown as an Ambassador, he can be found daydreaming in one of our beautiful parks, enjoying birdsongs with friends. Ever smiling and fun loving, he believes "Keep Portland Weird" is the way to go.
Marcus
Born and raised in nearby Hillsboro, Marcus has been a Sidewalk Ambassador since June 2007. An outgoing and friendly person Marcus says that if he were not a Sidewalk Ambassador he would be a motivational speaker. He always reminds visitors about Portland’s waterfront attractions and recommends the Fountains by the Rose Garden as his favorite spot in the city.
Merlin
Merlin is a “native Portlander” who is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. Merlin has a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Portland State University, where she focused on Tourism Marketing. Besides providing hospitality to Portland visitors, Merlin is creating a “Romance in the City of Roses” portfolio of Ads featuring Portland destinations for wedding planners.
Patricia
Patricia Jay is a busy mom of three boys (Joey, 12; Tyler, 8; Luke, 5). She enjoys reading, playing piano, and keeping up on the many social service programs in downtown. She is very thankful to be a Sidewalk Ambassador because of the many ways she can help others. "I love my city!"
Vicente
Vicente was nicknamed "Ambassador" long before joining his Sidewalk colleagues. In his years in the Portland area, he's been known - and quite popular - as an actor, instructor, translator, and minister, among other roles. A natural-born "do-gooder" and writer, his works have graced cities from Rio de Janeiro to Vancouver, BC.
