Programs and events
Annual Meeting: Our annual membership breakfast meeting, held each May, is one of the state's largest gatherings of business professionals and civic leaders. It features a prominent keynote speaker.
Business After Hours: Our informal Business After Hours events are held from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. It's a great way to create new business relationships in a relaxed setting. You'll enjoy open networking, appetizers, door prizes and a no-host bar. Check our events calendar for upcoming dates.
Business Leadership Evening: Our Business Leadership Evening, held in November, celebrates the leadership of the business community in the region. The evening features a dynamic keynote speaker exemplifying business philanthropy and leadership. The William S. Building Business Connections: A new twist on an old tradition, Building Business Connections is the new format for the Alliance's premiere networking program. Blending networking, resources and inspiration, Building Business Connections encourages lively discussion, focused connection-building conversations and educational opportunities to help attendees make new business connections, build their business and prosper. Nationally recognized speaker and author, Bonnie Stephenson, will emcee a fast paced, interactive event designed to connect, support and inspire. It is held from 7:30 to 9 a.m., formal networking starts at 7:45 a.m. sharp, every fourth Tuesdays of the month. Check our events calendar for upcoming events.
Chair's Cup: The Chair's Cup is a unique golfing experience for the region's top chief executive officers and business leaders. The May event begins with a dinner for players and guests followed the next day by golf, luncheon and awards. The playing field is limited to 72 participants. EMERGE Exclusives: Targeted toward emerging leaders in the Portland region who want to meet other emerging leaders and get to know established leaders. Each event features an existing leader who tells their story, gives advice, and shares their thoughts on careers, leadership and being engaged in the community. The events are moderated and audience questions and participation are encouraged. Programs are held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. every other month. Forum: This monthly speaker series highlights business and public-policy issues. The Forum is held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month, at the Governor Hotel. Golf Scramble: Our annual Golf Scramble in September provides fun and networking for a field of 144 players. The day starts with 18 holes of golf at a local premier golf course and a dinner and awards reception that includes a raffle and silent auction. Green Hour: Member businesses showcase their green business practices, sustainable products and services and provide a venue for members to connect with green-conscious professionals. Visit our events calendar to find upcoming events.
Leadership Portland: The goal of Leadership Portland is to develop future community leaders through an intense six-month program of education, coaching, discussion and relationship building. Participation is limited to 35 through an application and selection process. Click here for more information or for a list of current and past graduates.
Lunch with Leaders: The Lunch with Leaders event series connects Alliance members with elected officials in an informal atmosphere to talk about policy issues important to business. Pacific Northwest International Trade Association: PNITA conducts programs, generally with a partner organization such as the Portland Development Commission or the Bureau of International Services, to promote understanding and awareness of trade issues. Maximize Your Membership: Maximize your membership by attending the informational session/reception (held twice a year) that also provides networking opportunities for new and existing members. Check the events calendar for upcoming dates.
Women's 9-Hole Golf Scramble: Whether you hook your drives or nail it straight down the fairway, bring your clubs and enjoy the summer golf season at the Women's Golf Scramble. Includes beverages, lunch and prizes for the top finishers, KP and long drive.
