Programs and events
Annual Meeting: Our annual membership breakfast meeting, held each May, is one of the state's largest gatherings of business professionals and civic leaders. It features a prominent keynote speaker.
Business After Hours: Our informal Business After Hours events are held from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. It's a great way to create new business relationships in a relaxed setting. You'll enjoy open networking, appetizers, door prizes and a no-host bar. Check our Events calendar for upcoming dates.
Business Leadership Evening: Our Business Leadership Evening, held in November, celebrates the leadership of the business community in the region. The evening features a dynamic keynote speaker exemplifying business philanthropy and leadership. The William S. Business Leads Exchange: This is one of our most popular networking programs, geared toward building lasting business relationships and sharing valuable business leads. Each event consists of a sponsor presentation, small group breakout sessions of focused networking. It is held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Chair's Cup: The Chair's Cup is a unique golfing experience for the region's top chief executive officers and business leaders. The June event begins with a dinner for players and guests followed the next day by golf, luncheon and awards. The playing field is limited to 72 participants. Cornerstones for Success: A forum designed to help CEOs and owners of small to medium-sized companies grow their business through strong educational programs and peer networking. Programs are held from 4 to 6:15 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month. Visit our Events calendar to find out about the next event.
Downtown Retail Council: The council develops and conducts cooperative retail promotions, oversees implementation of the Downtown Retail Strategy and represents the collective interests of downtown retailers in public policy decisions. It is open only to retailers, restaurateurs and hoteliers inside the Business Improvement District. The council meets the fourth Thursday of the month, except November and December, July and August. Forum: This monthly speaker series highlights business and public-policy issues. The Forum is held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month, at the Governor Hotel. Golf Scramble: Our annual Golf Scramble in September provides fun and networking for a field of 144 players. We start with a box lunch followed by 18 holes of golf at a local premier golf course and a dinner and awards reception that includes a raffle and silent auction. Leadership Portland: The goal of Leadership Portland is to develop future community leaders through an intense six-month program of education, coaching, discussion and relationship building. Participation is limited to 30 through an application and selection process. Click here for more information or for a list of current and past graduates.
Pacific Northwest International Trade Association: PNITA conducts programs, generally with a partner organization such as the Portland Development Commission or the Bureau of International Services, to promote understanding and awareness of trade issues. PNITA also advocates for fair trade policies. Click here for more information.
Shop Talk Showcase: This popular networking program draws about 50 to 60 attendees to the host's business for networking, member introductions, a brief host presentation, and a door prize drawing.
